Is there a working document of metrics that have been renamed based on Decision → WorkflowTask renaming? I have a working dashboard based on Cadence named metrics but with this change it will break that as we monitor Temporal moving forward.

Hey @lindleyw,
I don’t think we have a document which list all the metric renames from Cadence to Temporal. But it’s a good idea and we should create a document.
Please refer to our [migrate from Cadence](https://docs.temporal.io/docs/cadence-to-temporal) page to get an idea of all the renames. I think that also maps 1-1 with metric renames.
We also created a dashboard repo which has basic dashboards with promql queries. You should be able to get these working if your metric backend supports promql.
Also here are some other helpful threads on this topic:

Some topics that would be useful: what are the top tier metrics that must be monitored a brief high level description of what each top-tier metric is measuring what are the units being displayed real-world experience on correlating user-visible issues to metrics that can help diagnose those issues Any help on this topic would be much appreciated!

> Hi @Sandeep_Paul - those configs that you are talking about are for connecting the grafana deployed by our helm chart to the prometheus deployed by our helm chart. If you want to bring your own prometheus and your own grafana you can make use of our dashboards but you’ll use your existing prometheus as datasource and configure your prometheus to scrape metrics in the namespace you have temporal deployed to. Depending on how you have that set up, things to check include: prometheus is configure…

> Hello Experts, I am new to Temporal and looking for some information for my POC where i need to know how to get the execution time for the workflow(irrespective of sync or async) which is triggered from external system and then how can i view them on my metric using the helmcharts. At the same time how can we pass the additional parameters in order to fetch the metrics. I have followed the steps as mentioned in [How to enable Metrics Support using JAVA SDK](https://community.temporal.io/t/how-to-enable-metrics-support-using-java-sdk/366) for my set up. Thanks in advance
