i believe you need to set this env var for the container frontend.enableUpdateWorkflowExecution=true

Thank you. Adding it to the env for the container did not work. I had to add it to the dynamic config file: frontend.enableUpdateWorkflowExecution: - value: true constraints: {}

adding to dynamic update file worked for me too
