Using S3 History Archival in Production

My team is looking to use the experimental feature of archiving the workflow event history to AWS S3 for debugging and compliance in our production environment.

We had some concern since the archival feature is labeled as experimental and wanted to see if there was any potential pitfalls that could have a negative effect on the stability of the Temporal server or workflow execution if there was issues with the archiving service (s3 down for example).

Has anyone enabled this in production that has some insight into using this feature?

Yes you will have to account for archival being experimental and could run into issues. Good thing is that a number of those have been solved or discussed on this forum, would start with searching for archival questions to get a feel for what others that are using it in prod have experienced.
